WRITING TIP: Freewrite as a meditation practice

writing tipTry using freewriting as a way to tune into your immediate experience, just as you do when meditating. Begin with the intention to see what is really happening inside, center yourself and set the timer. Then write stream of conscious, witnessing moment-to-moment experience inside your mind and body as you write. Read it back with the same sense of witness. You can use the movement of the pen as the physical anchor of your practice, similar to how you would normally use the breath. Try 10 minutes a day for a few weeks — a powerful way to get a sense of how your mind works.
