WRITING TIP: Write with your whole body

writing tipThe body and the creative flow of writing have more to do with each other than we might at first expect. Sit too long, and everything stagnates; the mind clogs. The solution? Build movement into your writing time. You can set a timer on your computer at intervals to get you out of the virtual trance. When the bell goes off, rather than interrupt your flow with more verbal input from the internet, try doing repetitive stretches, dancing to rhythmic music or going for a walk. Seeded with a little intention, the rhythmic, repetitive movement of the body creates an incubator for fresh insights on your work to emerge.
